From Cherem to
The Global Stage.
Pemba Sherpa was born in the remote village of Cherem in the Mera Peak region of Solu Khumbu, Nepal, where modern facilities were absent and life was shaped entirely by the mountains. Growing up without roads, electricity, or easy access to education, the Himalayas became his first classroom—teaching resilience, humility, and a deep respect for nature from a young age.
At just seven years old, Pemba moved to Kathmandu in search of better educational opportunities, a journey marked by struggle, adaptation, and determination. Even then, he was already following in the footsteps of his father, a professional mountaineering guide, learning mountain skills, discipline, and responsibility long before most children his age.
Throughout his school years, Pemba trekked across nearly every major Himalayan region of Nepal, balancing studies with long journeys into the high mountains. No matter how far he traveled, his connection to his roots remained strong. With each expedition, he fell deeper in love with the people, cultures, and ancient histories of the inner Himalayas, a passion that eventually inspired him to become a filmmaker and storyteller.
Now in his mid-twenties, Pemba is a certified Himalayan guide with over 10+ years of professional guiding experience, and a filmmaker who has traveled to multiple countries documenting stories of adventure and humanity. He has also successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro twice, further strengthening his experience in high-altitude environments.
The vision behind A Little More Altitude is simple yet deeply personal: to offer trekkers the best possible experience, shaped by everything Pemba has learned throughout his life—as a man born in the mountains, raised by their challenges, and guided by their wisdom. Every journey is designed not just as a trek, but as an authentic Himalayan experience rooted in safety, culture, and meaningful connection.
